UPDATE: And the People's Choice winner is... HoM! Dos Diablos burgers for lunch, anyone?

Meat + melty cheese + bun. Could there be a more delicious combination?

Well, yes. Add bacon, a fried egg, and bbq sauce, please. Scratch that—sub the "melty" for pimento, and add some lettuce and tomato. Wait, no... let's lose the beef and go with a turkey burger topped with some spinach, brie, and green apple.

Okay, this could go on for hours. But one thing's for sure—the cheeseburgers of today are far and beyond more delicious than those of generations past. (Or are they? Some folks prefer to keep it simple.) So to celebrate National Cheeseburger Day, we'd like to call attention to the burgalicious wealth of offerings we have here in the Holy City, and name one area restaurant The Best Burger Spot in Charleston

To help narrow things down, here are 10 Charleston eateries highly lauded for their burger offerings. Where do you go to get your cheeseburger fix? Comment below to cast your vote. Don't see your favorite here? Tell us which ones we missed.

Voting will close at noon, Monday, September 23. (Not really. You can vote anytime. That's just when we'll actually tally things up.)
