So, this past Sunday I spent a few hours in Church and let me tell you, it was delicious.
Full of worship to the nutella and fruit platter in front of me and a side of pellegrino sparkling water. It was a treat to try the 5Church brunch menu filled with delicious treats filled with good 'ole southern comfort food.
However, I eyed a plate of the nutella and fruit french toast panini and was SOLD. Let me tell you mouth-watering and savory with that nutella kick that everyone adores (except for my waistband). We got to try the Chef's newest
treat, handmade beignet . Let me tell you, I've been to New Orleans and Cafe Du Monde and these were up there, truly a treat!
My guest ate a southern comfort food platter filled with eggs, biscuits and bacon with the best grits she has ever had!! Shes had a variety of grits from various hotspots in Charleston.
The homemade biscuit though topped the cake or in this case, the platter. SO GOOD.
Our waiter, Will Byrd, was such a doll and treated us like we were the divas we are (totally kidding). We discussed diets, meat, Christmas and family traditions. The food was spectcular as expected but the service was even better. There is nothing like hospitality and in Charleston, nothing like a good geunine case of southern hospitality.
Cant wait to try the Holy &@*% Brunch next time!!
