My mission is to reshape the swimwear market by combining unique patterns and designs with the durability and luxury feel of high-end brands.

In Charleston's competitive fashion scene, a brand that seamlessly combines timeless principles, luxurious quality, and elegant design—while remaining accessible—has yet to make its mark. As a college student living in a coastal city, I understand the love for swimwear and have noticed a significant gap in the market. It's either dominated by cheap fast fashion or high-quality, overpriced options. Affordable swimsuits exist, but they’re often plain, lack originality, and are commonly seen everywhere.

Growing up with a love for swimwear shopping and collecting, I understand the appeal. My mission is to reshape the swimwear market by combining unique patterns and designs with the durability and luxury feel of high-end brands.

Over the course of seven months, I independently developed a business plan, found the ideal manufacturer, and designed a collection that reflects my style and what I believe young women will genuinely appreciate. After building the website and finalizing multiple samples, I officially launched my website in late August, leveraging social media to promote each product extensively. MeetKENA.

I encourage shoppers to purchase swimwear during the off-season.

Launching a swimwear brand in the off-season is an uphill battle, but the learning experience has expanded my knowledge of both the fashion world and entrepreneurship as a whole. I encourage shoppers to purchase swimwear during the off-season. These pieces make excellent Christmas gifts, vacation essentials, and are available only as limited editions.

My senior year is coming to a close and I’m energized by the possibilities ahead for this business. Entrepreneurship has given me the chance to turn my dreams into reality, and I’m looking forward to continuing to build, learn, and grow every step of the way.
