With new restaurants popping up on the Charleston foodie scene almost weekly, it feels good to find comfort in the classics.

Chef John Ondo (a Charleston native) and his wife, Angela Hall, are celebrating the 10th anniversary of their Cannonborough establishment Lana Restaurant and Bar with an in-house gallery of paintings by local artist Rick Reinert. Familiar scenes from the neighborhood are reenvisioned in bright hues by Reinert's masterful brush, portraying the area in an otherworldly, ethereal manner. Reinert's work pairs perfectly with Ondo's reinterpretations of Mediterranean classics, a partnership that looks to the future as it preserves the past.

While Lana may be a bit of a splurge, their Monday–Friday happy hour (5–7 p.m.) offers a menu of specialty tapas under $10, as well as discounts on beer, classic cocktails with house liquors, and wine by the glass. Wednesday happy hour features half-off bottles of wine $50 and under. Stop by, have a drink (or two), and enjoy some of Charleston's tastiest cuisine—you'll thank us later.
