Julie Wheat has had a variety of careers ranging from being a professional clown to managing IT and communications for 30 of the nation’s largest school districts as a Certified Superintendent of Schools. She has been on a writing hiatus since living in Las Vegas 12 years ago where she wrote for local entertainment publications on subjects including fine jewelry and clothing boutiques, karaoke in foreign languages, establishments that serve caviar, swingers’ joints, drag shows, ethnic supermarkets, and both the local punk rock and EDM scenes in order to put a major dent in her student loan. Julie currently is the owner of the Mount Pleasant boutique, Cavortress; works as a personal stylist, designer and adjunct professor at the Art Institute of Charleston teaching in the Fashion department. When she is not working you can find Julie at the beach surfing or walking her dachshund, Gidget.
