FRIDAY 12/4

 

What: Brave Baby & Tristen LIVE

 

Where: Charleston Music Farm 

When: 8pm

Deets: Local Band Brave Baby, known for their psychedelic-style rock-n-roll and lulled vocals, plays The Music Farm with Tristen out of Nashville, who styles herself as "neo-traditionalist synth-folk-pop."

How Much: $10

 

What: Merry Beary Christmas

Where: Bay Street Biergarten 

When: 8pm-2am

Deets: Join the Biergarten crew for some yuletide fun and help give a kid a happy holidays.  There's a $50 gift card on the line for the tackiest Christmas sweater, and DJ Rehab will be spinning seasonally-themed tracks all night.

Drink Specials: $5 Egg Nog, plus a Christmas Beer special from Sam Adams, plus a Pie Hole Whiskey promotion. Dogfish Head will be taking over the craft bier wall from 6-9pm featuring Piercing Pils, 60 Minute IPA, 90 Minute IPA, Burton Baton, and Pennsylvania Tuxedo.

For every toy you bring for the Toys For Tots drive, the Biergarten will give you $5 in bier bucks in return.

What: Dopapod with The Nth Power

Where: The Pour House

When: 8pm

Deets: Touring for their fourth studio album release, Dopapod brings a great lightshow to DIY progressive rock, and is a great band for the PoHo crowd, who may have seen them here in early December before. The Nth Power — a soul band formed during improptu jazz jam — helps round out the night with funky rhythms to groove to.

How Much: $20; $18 advance

 

What: An Evening Of Hope: A Benefit For Emanuel AME Church 

 

Where: The Art Institute of Charleston

When: 6-9pm

Deets: This fashion and art show, presented by the Art Institute of Charleston, directly benefits the Reverend Clementa C Pinckney Foundation. Refreshments will be provided.

How Much: $15; $25 VIP

 

 

SATURDAY 12/5 

 

What: Stop Light Observations with Rainbow Kitten Surprise

 

Where: Charleston Music Farm 

When: 8pm doors; 9pm show

The Deets: Hear hometown favorites Stop Light Observations with this almost-sold-out show at The Music FarmRainbow Kitten Surprise of Boone, NC, opens with a sound reminiscient of the Kings of Leon or The Strokes.

How Much: $17

 

What: Ugly Christmas Sweater Party

Where: The Pour House

When: Noon - Until

The Deets: This third annual ugly Christmas sweater party at the Pour House features music by Psylo Joe out on the deck at 6:30pm, and Charleston resident jam band BYOG starting at 9pm. Later on, local bands Moosekick and Big John Belly will also rock the ugly-sweatered house. Get there early to avoid the $10 cover.

How Much: $10; $5 advance; free on the porch

 

What: Beach Tiger with Human Resources and Youth Model

Where: The Royal American 

When: 8:30pm

Deets: Catch 3 local bands at The Royal American — Beach Tiger (who just dropped a single on iTunes) , Human Resources, and Youth Model.  

How Much: $5 cover

 

What: North Charleston Christmas Festival 

Where: Park Circle

When: 3-9pm

Deets: Celebrate the season with live entertainment and community fellowship. The festival starts at 3pm, with marshmellow roasting, arts and crafts, and more to keep the kids — and adults — occupied.  The parade at 5pm followed by the big tree lighting in front of the Felix Davis Community Center, right in the middle of Park Circle. Performances include holiday tunes and jazz by the Leonard School of Music, multiple youth community choral groups, gospel songs by F.O.C.U.S., step teams, and more. Vendors will be set up selling local wares, serving hot food, and providing hot chocolate!

SUNDAY 12/6 

 

What: Foliday Giving Market

Where: Folly Beach Pier

When: Noon-6pm

Deets: The Foliday Giving Market is the perfect place to shop locally this holiday season. 

The market is hosted by the Folly Beach Farmers Market with the support of Charleston County Park & Recreation Commission, South Carolina

You will have the opportunity to shop locally from talented artisans as well as give back to local charities and organizations, all while grooving on the Folly Pier.

What: Deck the Halls — A Holiday Soiree for a Cause

Where: Warehouse

When: 6pm

Deets: Warehouse is hosting its  2nd Annual Holiday Soiree for a Cause with live funk from Super Deluxe, small plates from chef Emily Hahn, holiday cocktails like spiked eggnog, and ugly Christmas sweaters. The event benefits Wings for Kids. 

An unwrapped toy is the suggested donation. 

There will also be a costume contest for Best Dressed Santa / Elf / Mrs. Clause. There will be one male winner and one female winner; each will receive a $100 Warehouse gift card. Whiskey Tasting by: High West Distillery from 6-8pm.
