Equinox Festival at Folly
March 20 | 5:00 p.m. | Free admission
We made it through another not-so-brutal Charleston winter, and as a reward, Quantum Rock and Jack of Cups are throwing a party featuring live music from some of Charleston's best local bands, including Post-Cobra, Air Sculptures, Clint4, and John Stockdale Band. Freehouse Brewery will be taking over the taps, and be sure to stick around for cool door prizes from Monster Music and more.
3rd Annual Jerky Off
March 20 | 6:00 p.m.| $10
Jerky lovers rejoice—this event is for you! EMB is bringing back their beloved jerky contest this Friday. Bring out your best jerky to make the panel of jerky aficionados' mouths water. Judges include Chef Graham Dailey of Peninsula Grill, Chef Emily Hahn of Warehouse, and Cole Flodin. Entries will be assessed on their aroma, color, moisture/texture, overall flavor, and creative names. Don't be a jerk: come out, eat some grub and, in turn, help support this year's charity of choice, The Lowcountry Food Bank.
Celebration for Jae
March 20 | 9:00 p.m. | $5
Though originally booked as an album release show for their new record, Apocalypse Beach, Zonaea enlisted Dante's Camaro and Scott Dence's one man band to come together to celebrate the life of longtime local music friend Jae Bellamy, who was killed riding his bike in North Charleston in a hit-and-run accident. All proceeds will go to Bellamy's family and to help find his killer.
March 20 | 10:00 p.m. | Free admission
If you were wondering what could top Charleston Fashion Week, look no further—it’s this after party. Gemsounds will be hosting the event, and to keep you dancing the night away, DJs Black Olive, Mummbls, and Buckmaster will be spinning some sick jams. And make sure to bring it on the fashion front, as Sam Walden will be snapping photobooth pics. Take off your heels and dance and drink the night away.
Gunsafe | Another Mans Trash
March 20 | 10:00 p.m. | Free admission
You're gonna need to get a burger before this one! Arcata, Califoria's Gun Safe brings their West Coast brand of folk-punk to Big Gun to party hard with local undergroud punks Another Mans Trash, who are sure to get the burger shop shaking.

In case you were wondering, nothing in the world is better than pizza. Mellow Mushroom Avondale will be kicking off their four-year anniversary this Saturday with their annual Disco Brunch. The first 100 attendees will receive an envelope with a mystery prize inside, and from what we hear, one of them is free pizza for a year! Frothy Turns Two
March 21 | 11:00 a.m. | Free admission
They grow up so fast. Frothy Beard Brewing Company is turning two, and what would a birthday be without a party? Music, food, and, of course, beer will be available to those 19 years older than Frothy. Following the success of last year, they are bringing back Xtreme Pro Wrestling; although this is part of the party, to enter the arena area, a $8 cover fee is required—but well worth it.
March 21 | 7:00 p.m. | Free admission
Drop a line at Sneaker this Saturday, when they will be hosting TheFIX.fm's first official cypher. Not quite sure what a cypher is? Neither were we. Fortunately, organizer Vaughn Postema of Call Me VP clued us in. "A cypher is a beautiful way to showcase the talent of individuals who choose to dabble in the art of rapping. A group of these artists gather around and take turns giving a 'hot 16' (which is 16 bars, which equates to about 1 minute and 15 seconds). This continues in rotation until the last artist has his or her turn." Dope.
The Independents | First World Problem
March 21 | 9:00 p.m. | $5
South Carolina punk legends The Independents will take the stage at The Sparrow, bringing back their signature blend of ska, Elvis, and the Ramones. They will split the bill with Charleston punk fave First World Problem, who are fresh out of the studio and ready to unleash their raw energy on the crowd.
LAMB Jam 2015
March 22 | 1:00 p.m. | $20
Just like the weather, LAMB Jam is heating up this year with a great line up, awesome food, a silent auction, and, most importantly, a great cause, the LAMB Institute in Honduras. Support this amazing cause while jamming out to music from Hootie and the Blowfish’s Mark Bryan, Hank Futch of The Blue Dogs, Poppa Futch, Irene Rose, Claire Conway, and Owens & Horton, just to name a few.
A Toast at Coast with Creative Mornings
March 22 | 2:00 p.m. | $5
Creative Mornings Charleston is taking over Coast this Sunday for the best kind of breakfast: one served with a conversation and music. Enjoy delectable eats from La Gaufre homemade Belgium Waffles and the Just Eat This food truck while listening to the incredibly talented Hunter Park of She Returns from War. If music isn’t enough to get you out of bed, the Charleston Self Portrait Project will be making an appearance with—catch this—you as the artist. Coast brews will be available to get that creativity flowing.
