I really hope you guys didn’t miss out on Saturday for Hearts & Plugs' Summer Shindig event at Palmetto Brewery featuring a dozen performances from Charleston’s best local bands, including some good friends Susto & Brave Baby. Of course, everyone killed it. Aside from the insanely good music and beer, there was also some great Hair & Makeup Street Style. Let's take a look at what some of our locals were rocking this weekend.

-Meggie Hulsey (check out her awesome music blog) wore a side braided bun. Such a fun way to snazz up your look!

Get the Look: Gather your hair into a side pony. Braid your hair in a normal, 3 strand braid, and secure with a small ponytail holder. Wrap the braid around like a bun, securing with bobby pins along the way.

-Tamsyn Rickards, a local hairstylist at Elysium Salon and an avid thrifter, knows exactly how to get that perfect messy, beachy, tousled hair. Gorgeous!

Get the Look: Blow dry your hair with no brush (or air dry)—this will give it some texture. With a large barrel iron, wrap the hair around one time, giving it a slight bend (you do not want a full curl for this look). Bend a few loose sections, leaving your ends out.

-Morgan McAlliseter looks great in her updo/flower crown combo. So simple but unique, and keeps your hair off your neck on hot days!

Get the Look: Comb your hair down, and place a headband/flower crown on top of your head. Take sections of your hair and roll it up, tucking it into the headband. Keep going around the back of your head, taking more sections, rolling and tucking. Really easy—no bobby pins or clips needed!

-Lauren Garcia, a stylist at Allure Salon and local music lover, is wearing a a brightening silver shadow with black cat eyeliner. *Sparkle*Meow*

Get the Look: Apply a shimmery silver shadow all over the lid, the inner corner, in the tear duct, and a bit going into the lower lashline. Using a liquid liner, keep the liner close to the lid, getting a little thicker towards the outside, and extending out a tinge for the "cat eye."

-Joy Sims, an employer at Juridica Asset Management, looked stunning in her bright magenta lipstick.

Get the Look: Wear bright lips during the day! Try "Hot Rose" by Lipstick Queen Sinner ($22) found at Pink Dot Beauty Bar.
