UPDATE! The summer 2013 Charleston Sports and Social Club kickball championship (and it's accompanying party—see below for details) is Friday, October 11, 6 to 11 p.m. Head to the Joe for all-you-can drink beer, corn hole, and flip cup for $5 (with a current-season CSSC jersey) or $10 (for everyone else).

Beer was for dinner, indeed, last Friday at the Joe. Well, beer and unlimited BBQ sandwiches. The occasion? Not a RiverDogs game. That would've been fun. But probably not as fun and definitely much pricier. Nope—this was the Charleston Sports and Social Club's end of season party/ spring kickball championship.

Though my team lost in the semi-finals (that's okay Jiminy Kickits, we'll get 'em next time.), it turned out for the best.

(... Like that name? Here are some others that stood out this season: Roll a Fat Bunt, Drunk Again and Looking to Score, I'd Hit It, The Untouchaballs, Only in the Bunt, Squishface, and my personal favorite: Remember When Eric Was Fun?)

Anyways, we soon found out that upstairs and off the field was the place to be.

Best part about this 30-foot game of flip cup? Beer was unlimited with your $5 or $10 ticket in ($5 with any CSSC spring season shirt; $10 without). They also had corn hole boards, a dunking booth, a live Rastafarian band, and a DJ. I repeat: all for either 5 or 10 bucks.

Check out Charleston Sports and Social Club for word of next season's close-out party (likely in late September). Meanwhile? Brush up on your flip cup skills.

... And play kickball. (Summer sign-ups end Sunday, July 28.)
