Seider, the author of Alchemy in a Glass: the Esential Guide to Handcrafted Cocktails, is the founder of New York's award-winning The Summit Bar and co-owner of the Manhattan Cricket Club. In addition, Seider has developed the cocktail programs for the famed Le Bernadin and Minetta Tavern, two high-profile restaurants in New York.
Bar 492 will be featuring cocktails crafted by Seider and using Virgil Kaine's locally-distilled liquors, and every guest in attendance tonight can have one complimentary drink as part of this very special event. As if this amazing, FREE event weren't enough to whet your whistle, Butcher & Bee at 654 King Street in Charleston will be hosting a second event tomorrow night, August 18, 2015, featuring Sieder's popular cocktail mixology class, The Alchemist Sessions. This class will feature everything from recipe rations and dilution to the preparation of your own custom bitters and infusions. In addition, Butcher & Bee will be providing complimentary appetizers. Tickets to the class are $80 and can be purchased here (http://www.alchemyinaglass.com).

As for me, I already know which Virgil Kaine whisky is my personal favorite. The Ginger-Infused Bourbon is a spiced, heady liquor that tastes great with a little soda and muddled fresh South Carolina peaches (with more for garnish). I may or may not have had a couple of these over the weekend. Shh...it'll be our poorly-kept secret.
