I had the chance to sit down with Andrew Roby, president of District Fete and founder of the Fashion 360 Conference, which will take place on October 18 at the Art Institute of Charleston. An incredible opportunity for the Charleston fashion scene, Fashion 360 will feature fashion design, beauty, and PR and marketing panels with key industry experts, including Julie Wheat, CEO of Cavortress; Andrea Serrano, fashion stylist and founder of Charleston Shop Curator; Stanfield Gray, CEO of Dig South; Biana Chardei, model, TV correspondent, and founder of Love Yourself; and John Barnhardt, Daytime Emmy Award winner and co-creator of the ABC adventure series Born to Explore.

The fashion world can be a little intimidating at times, so I love events like this where beautiful minds come together as a community to create a melting pot of ideas. I love the sharing of knowledge, I love what has been happening in our fashion-forward city, and I love the opportunity to chat with visionaries like Andrew Roby. This is for you, Grit readers, from one Andrew to another.

AP: What is the Fashion 360 Conference all about?

AR: The Fashion 360 Conference is a unique event that we have created to help local business owners develop ideas and get expert opinions on how to tackle achieving them.

AP: What can participants expect by attending the conference?

AR: We encourage our attendees to consider this as a working event. We bring in creative speakers to really delve into issues and find ways to fix them. We also want our attendees to network with people in various categories they may have not considered. Ultimately, we want to provide meaningful content they can use when they leave the event.

AP: Who are some of the speakers we can expect to see at the conference this year?

AR: This year we are extremely excited to have Robert Verdi serve as our keynote speaker. We also have Emmy winner John Barnhardt, Dig South's CEO Stanfield Gray, Julie Wheat, Yelp's Scott Carpenter, and a slew of other amazing speakers.

AP: This is your second year producing the event. What has been the feedback from previous attendees?

AR: Last year, we held the event in DC and Cameron Silver was the keynote. He was so impressed by the conference that he recommended we bring it to LA and other locations. Attendees really loved the content and the ability to network without constraints. We were happy to get an overall satisfaction rating of 100% and a 92.5% for event value from the attendees.

AP: With all the details about this conference and the lineup of speakers, who should really attend this event?

AR: We encourage every business owner and even those seeking to start a business to attend. We have subjects on finance, fashion tech, social media, blogging, fashion design, and a few others. Even if you aren't a fashion business, we recommend that you attend because the content for social media, finance, and start-ups are for everyone.

Opportunities like this do not happen every day, and I urge you to jump in line and snatch up your tickets faster than Naomi Campbell can conquer the catwalk with her endless miles of long, gorgeous legs. I hope to see you all there, and if you have any questions, please feel free to email me at Andrew@AndrewCPetersen.com.
