How is the summer going? Are the kids spending too much time watching television or playing computer games? Are they bored and driving you crazy yet? Need some help?

Here's an idea: Summer Surf Camp.

Each summer, all summer, Charleston Surf Lessons, next to the the Tides Hotel on Folly Beach, offers week-long surf camps for kids looking to have some fun and expend some energy. Camps begin at 8:30 a.m. and last until 12:00 p.m.

Kids learn about the ocean, water safety, proper surf stance and pop-up techniques, and by the end of the week (often much sooner), the kiddos are surfing.

Safety is always the first priority for the crew at Charleston Surf Lessons, and the student-to-instructor ratio is kept very low (1 instructor for every 4 children) to ensure each child is closely monitored. Your child will finish the week with a new skill, new friends, a sense of empowerment and accomplishment, and huge smiles.

But the best part? They will be exhausted.
