Earlier today, the Charleston City Paper reported that protesters described as "an offshoot" of Black Lives Matter Charleston would be shutting down the Ravenel Bridge at 4 p.m. in protest of the shooting death of Walter Scott.
Here's a screen shot of the post, which has been edited. (The original post did not make make mention of Black Lives Matter Charleston organizer Muhiyidin D’Bah, who stated that the group was not "at all" involved with the planned direct action.)
However, CCP later released the following update:
When we reached out to Black Lives Matter Charleston, an organizer again confirmed they were "in no way affiliated with the protest to shut down the Ravenel Bridge."

So, commuters, you can breathe a sigh of relief—rush-hour traffic today will more than likely not suck any more than it typically does.
