It's the weekend! And a warm, sunny one at that. It's time to forget about work, remember the sunscreen, and unwind. But first, this week's blog of the week, Dr. Abess' suggestion to take a stroll in someone else's shoes, reminds us of something that's worth a pause. It reminds us that before we get too enthralled in, or actually, while we're enthralled in our own weekend plans—be it Water Balling it with Band of Horses, sipping some brews at the Beer Garden, or spending the day at Sullivan's—we should remember that it's the people who surround us, those we know and those we don't, and how we interact with them that's what's important. "That our society would certainly be gentler and kinder if more of us made the effort to look at life as it is experienced by others," as Dr. Abess so eloquently put.
And though our struggles aren't all of the medical sort, as they are in the video below, the fact that we're all facing something holds true. So take another—or your first—watch of the video below. The Grit team agrees that empathy's a message well worth keeping in mind this wonderful weekend.
