Back in August of 2012, I was asked to audition for a new television gameshow, Let’s Ask America, hosted by G4's Attack of the Show’s veteran host, Kevin Pereira, where you can win up to $50,000!

I made the cut for episode 2 and my airtime was back in early October.

But I did this all without getting onto a plane, staying in a hotel, without taking a day off of work, and was done in 30 minutes, all thanks to Skype, which is how this show works everyday.

Kevin Pereria, the host of Lets Ask America tweeted that right after my show was recorded...too bad it wasn't me that he was talking about. The winner won $11,000! It was nuts!

But that’s the beauty of this show, you can actually win up to $50,000 bucks all from the comfort of your couch! All you need is a webcam, an internet connection, and a half hour.

Here's a tweet of me below prepping for the show too, it was such an easy and fun experience, especially knowing if you win, you're life can change forever.

"Now Let's Ask America is a daily, half-hour, television game show that lets you, the home viewer, be a contestant on the show on TV from the comfort of your home via Skype. To be a contestant, all you have to do is go to the show website and sign up. Every day, four contestants will be chosen to play the game and win up to $50,000 cash via Skype from their home.”

Oh yea, if you get casted, they send you this big box of swag all for free! Still use the LED keyboard light and the skype headphones.

So Charleston has had 3 contestants on the show and I recently caught up with the host of Let’s Ask America, Kevin Pereira, and the most recent Charlestonian to appear on the show, Julia Nygren, with both of them explaining what the show is all about, the experiences on the show and why you should buck up and audition yourself!

Hunter: So Kevin, how does the show work?

Kevin: It's simple. If you think you can predict what America is thinking, you can not only watch, you can play on TV and win cash from the comfort of your home.

Hunter: Well how does one become a contestant?

Kevin: All you need is a webcam and a desire to win $50,000 from your home. The contestants that we have on the show are from all walks of life. You can visit www.letsaskamerica.tv to apply. Pants optional, but mostly encouraged.

Hunter: Haha, Well I’ll let you know I wore shorts during my audition but I might've been going commando...just saying. So where do the questions come from that are asked on the show?

Kevin: Ha! Well I’m hoping they were cut-offs!

Well the fun of this show, aside from the devilishly handsome and impossibly charismatic host, is the completely original content. We hired professional polling companies and created tons of original questions. This makes the show "Google proof," and adds a ton of character.

Hunter: Exactly! When I was on the show, I had to start writing down the first thing that came to my head, there wasn’t any time to “Google” it or even double think. The style of the questions didn’t allow that.

So how would you convince someone to audition? There’s no need for stage-fright on this one right?

Kevin: Once people see an episode of “Let’s Ask America,” they see that they can play this game. I love that this show is not trivia based like a lot of game shows are. This show is opinion. If you can walk us through your thought process, you can absolutely be on and should audition!

Hunter: Well is there anything up Let's Ask America's sleeves that we should know about that's coming up in the next few months?

Kevin: On April 25th, we have our final “Meteorologists” episode, where four TV meteorologists compete to see who has the “winning forecast.” Then on May 10th, we have a special “Mother’s Day” episode where moms play together with their kids. Plus, the week of May 13th is "Second Chance Week,” where we invite former contestants back for a second shot at winning $50K!

Hunter: Woah, can I be invited back?! I didn’t win!

Kevin: HAHAHAHA! Of course not Hunter...Conflict of interest..

Hunter: Fine... So why should we America tune in? God I hate you right now.

Kevin: Well this is awkward...but yes, America needs to tune in! “Let's Ask America" is fun, fast-paced and unique from top to bottom. Plus, you get a shotgun blast of "America". Viewers will see what people are thinking from pop culture to politics to love and relationships. You get questions and opinions that truly surprise you, and it’s certainly shaped my thoughts about the country in positive and unexpected ways.

Hunter: It’s all good Kevin, I’m a big boy and understand. I hate it when we fight...

Kevin: Me too Hunter...now off to our most recent Charleston contestant, Julia Nygren!

So Julia, on a scale of 1-10, 10 being the hardest, how easy was it to audition?

Julia: Hi Kevin! Yea I would rate it a 1 on how easy it was to audition. It was just like Skyping a friend because the casting agents were so easy to talk to and I just simply had a very fun conversation with them for about 30 minutes.

Hunter: Well what were you feeling when they were getting you prepped for the show?

Julia: When I was getting prepped for the show I was feeling VERY excited!! I was definitely nervous because the money could completely change my life, but I felt at ease while we were waiting to go on air. Everyone back stage was hilarious and fun to be around!

Hunter: I know! Rayna & Jennifer from casting were hilarious! When they asked me the morning of my taping if I could be on the show that night, I was originally scheduled to be on camera a couple of weeks later, they were backstage waiting to yell at me “YES! HOLY CRAP HE MADE IT!”. Made it so much fun.

Julia: Yes! Loved everyone backstage waiting for us to go live. I had such a rush too the second Kevin Pereira came out!

Kevin: Duh & Naturally... So did you win on your episode?

Julia: Haha no! Well I was winning until the second round, I over-thought the question, which is my advice to anyone intrigued about being on this show, don’t over-think your answers! Just go with your gut! I guessed the answer wrong and was eliminated! I was so bummed!!!

Kevin: Well I know you had fun though, you were great on the show Julia.

Julia: Well thanks Kevin. Thanks you guys for interviewing me and everyone in Charleston and anyone reading this, please audition for “Let’s Ask America!  You don't have to travel, since the game show is played all through Skype, you sit in the comfort of your own home, and you can win BIG!
