Charleston Queer Youth Prom

This event is designed to be a magical night for middle and high school students to be their authentic selves—to dance, celebrate and build connections free from discrimination.

Charleston-based nonprofitWe Are Familyis excited to host South Carolina’s onlyQueer Youth Promon Saturday, April 20, from 6-10 P.M. at the newPark Circle Community Buildingin North Charleston. Since 2014, We Are Family’s Queer Youth Prom has offered Charleston’s LGBTQI+ community and its allies a bespoke prom experience in a safe and supportive environment and an unforgettable opportunity to connect with youth in the area. 

Interested youth can follow the yellow brick road to this year’s Oz-mosis-themed Queer Youth Prom as tickets to the event are free and now available to be reserved HERE.Prom-goers will enjoy a celebration of all things “Wizard of Oz” while they dance the night away and engage in exciting community-building activities. This event is designed to be a magical night for middle and high school students to be their authentic selves—to dance, celebrate and build connections free from discrimination. To provide safety and comfort, security will be on-site, and attendees will have a choice as to whether or not they want their picture taken.
