Fashion is in the air, my darlings! Like a beautiful cloud of glamour, Charleston Fashion Week has settled over the city. With it has also come an air of absolute excitement, anticipation, and the sometimes the dreaded "What am I going to do to look amazing?"  Well don't panic, ACP is here with some quick beauty tips that will leave you strutting your stuff just like the hot models on the runway!

1. Pick one feature that you want to focus when it comes to your makeup, and play that up. For example a bold lip and nude eye, or a bold eye and nude lip. You could do both, but run the risk of overdoing it and end up looking like a fashion victim rather than a fashionista. You want your makeup to compliment your look, not compete with it. Making a statement is fabulous when it is done in the right way, too many statements can end up getting you noticed but for all the wrong reasons.

2. Frame the face by filling in the brow. This will give you more definition, and will bring attention to your eyes—giving you a more youthful appearance and a little amp of attitude but in a very subtle way. I like pencils, because they allow you to do little soft feather strokes. *ACP pick: Clinique has an amazing pencil for this.

3. Use gel liner on the upper eyelid to add the drama. Then take a black pencil and dot along the inside of the lash line. This is such an amazing trick to make yours "pop!”  It will photograph beautifully and no one will know what your little secret is. My final touch on the eyes, to make you look like a movie star, is to apply a dab of shimmer shadow in the inner corner of the eye—such as easy tip but super sexy! *ACP pick: Bobbi Brown is by far the best on the market.

4. The secret weapon is a few dabs of Touche Eclat from YSLThis should be in every red carpet diva’s arsenal. After mixing your blush and bronzer together and sweeping it all over the face, apply a little Touche Eclat under the eyes and around the mouth to give an immediate lift. Tthis tip will come in handy as the nights wear on and the fashion gets more fierce. You might start to feel a little tired but with the help of Touche Eclat that is a secret between you and me.

5. Apply a rich cream lip color to complement the eyes. But remember what I said in the beginning, only one feature for the va-va-voom!  However I must tell you honey, no lip gloss. If you’re working the red carpet the right way, there will be plenty of kisses on the cheek and you don't want to be leaving your mark on every lucky man that comes your way, so stick to matte. Besides, you’ll need less touch-ups with a matte. Schmooze, Schmooze, Scmooze honey....That is what it is all about, so don't disappoint me! (wink)

Okay, I know you want to slip into your stilettos and strut your stuff, but give I need just a few more moments. If ever you want to apply faux lashes, tonight is the night and just remember: the key there is black glue. For a little extra, shimmer it up with a luminizer high on the cheek bones and under the brow to catch the camera flash in such the right way. And you know I always end with a spritz of my favorite (Oribe Antihumidity Spray) and then it’s out the door and into the flashing lights.

Now go work that red carpet honey, and remember the best accessory a girl can have is a strong sense of self-worth and the right attitude. Makeup is just pretty wrapping paper and ribbon on someone who walks the walk and knows that she is fabulous! That type of attitude will outshine any of the lights that will be flashing your way.  See you under the tents gorgeous ones!  And do me a favor come up and say hi! Let's grab a glass of bubbly and let me see your fierceness with my very own eyes!

xoxo
