Forget about church yesterday, I found my personal heaven at our very own Target store here in Charleston, amidst affordable leopard-print cosmetics bags, decadent body creams, and scrubs to die for... (I guess that's kind of an odd comment when we are talking about heaven... oh well!). There were tweezers, the latest in nail color, loofahs to tickle any fancy, and an eye mask that I wanted to put on right then and there in the middle of aisle, despite the hoards of clients scouring to get their hands on the trendy goods. What was the occassion? As one of five national retailers partnering with Target for a new venture know simply as "The Shops at Target," our very own Cos Bar unveiled its new limited edition "Cos Bar Aspen" collection of body care products, beauty tools, bath accessories, manicure tools, and makeup bags. I had to debate with wrestling a customer for the bars of delicious soaps that were being restocked (as they had already sold off the shelves at 8 a.m. in the morning when the store first opened) or to continue taking photographs and notes on this fabulous new venture.
To celebrate the national launch, the one and only Grande Dame herself Lily Garfield, who first opened Cos Bar in Aspen, Colorado in 1976, and her handsome son Oliver Garfield were on hand to personally meet with the masses in our fair city of Charleston—what an honor! I was thrilled to have a personalized guest experience with the co-creators of the limited-edition collection, which is said to reflect Garfield's personal aesthetic.
The Shops at Target is a new design partnership program that highlights the distinctive aesthetic of unique specialty shops from across the country. Cos Bar is joined by four other retailers (The Candy Store, Polka Dog Bakery, Privet House, and the Webster), to offer a total of nearly 400 products, from fashion, beauty, and home goods, to sweets, pet treats, and accessories. Each collection ranges in price from $1 to $159.99 and will be available at all Target stores and on Target.com from May 6 through June 16, 2012, or until supplies last. I cannot emphasize enough for you to put those slippers on baby and carry yourself to the nearest Target store while supplies last. I may be a makeup maven but anyone can and will appreciate these practical, fun, and just plain fabulous collections. Did I mention they had the most amazing faux lashes that I have ever seen!!! I batted my bare eyes twice with disbelief. Look, you and I both know that I was not going to church any way yesterday, but I can attest that I did hear angels sing when I saw this collection, and after just getting of the shower and using my new blue foot file, I know that God had answered my prayers despite my absence in the holy house yesterday!
Until next time my loves,
xoxo
Andrew
