The Blog of the Week is... The Men Who Sit on my Spring Street Stoop by Cullen Murray Kemp

Cullen, no doubt, garnered silent applause for this post, particularly in a town full up on praise for all things arts and history, scenic and savory. But he not only has a unique window into these mens' lives and their community, but he's found a way to share it with us. So what will we do with our glimpse?

Donate your time or money to Crisis Ministries? How about Operation Home (brainchild of the writer mentioned below...)? Lowcountry Food Bank? Or any of the numerous school or mentoring programs that can intervene before these people hit the streets...?

In the meantime, here's another glimpse at life on the streets in Charleston: Writer Emily Perlman Abedon wrote this piece, Hope, Without a Home, for Charleston magazine's February issue. It's a good, insightful read.
