Joe Hertler & the Rainbow Seekers is a contemporary rock band with an eclectic sound that combines Motown, folk, Americana, and funk.
Their music is unique in the best possible way. It has a big-band feel mixed with a pop-rock sound. Pick any song off of their new album, Pluto, and you won’t be able to stop yourself from bopping along to the beat.
This Michigan-based band formed in 2010. Current band members include Joe Hertler, guitar, vocals and harmonica; Ryan Hoger, guitar; Jason Combs, bass; Ryan McMahon, drums; Micah Bracken, keys; and Aaron Stinson, saxophone.
Their third studio album, Pluto, was recorded in Hertler’s home studio.
Joe Hertler & the Rainbow Seekers released several singles off of their latest album, Pluto.
“I really like how the music video turned out for 'Old Love'” Hertler said. “It’s about two Samurai’s that fall in love.” (see music video above)
“The live show is the purpose of the band. This is why we make music. Playing music is a symbiotic process and without a crowd, it is just a bunch of guys jamming," Hertler says on his website.
To me, he notes a live performance is “an escape from everyday life.” The crowd at a Joe Hertler & the Rainbow Seekers show is typically engaged and having fun. For Hertler and the band, that’s how they judge whether a show is successful.
Hertler adds, “we like color.” Expect an exciting, theatrical, and colorful time at the Pour House on August 18.
