And the blog of this week is... Hunter Boone's "ANOTHER Local Reality Show?" Coming in at the end of a year in which we've seen local reality shows (or rumors of them, at least) sprout up like weeds, it's a refreshing to hear that a real and really amazing non-profit here in the Holy City (Pet Helpers) is getting real exposure in part by a real and local video production company (Palmetto Coast Media).

It's really cool. Really.

The show "Give Me Shelter" will document the day-to-day challenges—and triumphs—that go down at James Island's no-kill animal shelter Pet Helpers, whose mission is to "save the lives of animals in the Lowcountry by keeping all animals until they are adopted, to provide low cost spay/neuter, and to serve as a resource to pet owners in the community." As they were voted "Nonprofit of the Year" by community members at Charleston magazine's Giving Back Awards last month, it's clear the local nonprofit has a soft spot in Charleston's heart (and rightfully so), so we're more than thrilled that they'll be getting attention from the masses.

To celebrate, we've collected the best of the worst of seasonal pet love. Whether you're a fan of dressing pets up or not, you're gonna LOVE these guys. 'Tis the season!
