The Charleston arts scene is like none other. Local artists are everywhere, and cover a wide range of artistic ability and style. Downtown is flooded with galleries and street artists capturing the beauty of the Holy City. But, a West Ashley consulting firm is taking an approach to art exhibition unlike traditional galleries.
Jericho Advisors is a business offering consluting, accounting, tax services, financial planning, and insurances services, as well as holding an advocacy for the local art scene. The Gallery at Jericho Advisors is an exhibition space dedicated to the arts, especially regional, up-and-coming artisans. The exhibition space has hosted area painters, photographers, graphic designers, jazz musicians, alternative performers, and street artists, giving them the opportunity to showcase their talents. In-house and community events, openings, and activities are part of these exhibitions, giving the artists some face time and allowing their work to reach more people.
Now, the question is: Do you and your art form have what it takes to be featured via this contemporary medium? Jericho Advisors is reaching out to artists in the area who feel that their work would be a good fit in the gallery to submit their work to be considered for exhibition. Contact gallery manager Megan Shaffer (megan@jerichoadvisors.com) or drop in during gallery hours (Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm) with inquiries and submissions.
Check out the next exhibit the gallery is hosting, Pop: summer by artist Cory Oberndorfer. From August 15-September 30, his art work will be on display, featuring images of popcicles. Don't miss the opening reception on August 15 from 6-9pm with King of Pops.
