Five Grams Of… Stacey Bradley!

Coming off the heels of Mother’s Day, we thought it only suitable to spotlight one rad mama for this 5 Grams feature! Meet Stacey Bradley, mother of two (Cierah and Wyatt), married to a rock star songwriter Jay Clifford, block printing queen and founder of PerlaAnne Press! Named in memory of her mother, and the force behind her creative drive, PerlaAnne features hand printed linoleum and wood cut art all by the hands of Stacey Bradley! We love a crafty chick!

"What do you do? How long have you been doing it? Why are you doing it?"

"I’m a full time printmaker. Wood and linoleum cuts specifically. Been hand carving blocks and inking them up for 25 years. Yikes! I do it because I love every second of it, I can’t imagine not having this creative outlet in my life."

"What do you consider your special powers?"

"My super special awesome power is listening both to what people want, and to what I want out of my work. I’ve learned how to apply my personal aesthetic towards concepts or ideas I know people will relate to. And, by the way, I do this while levitating."

"Describe your style and fashion sense. Who has iconic style to you?"

"My husband just described my style as a “metro sexual cowgirl?” Of course I laughed while asking, “What the heck does that even mean?” Simply put, I’m a jeans and tank top every day kind of girl. Iconic style is not about clothes to me. It’s about being confident and comfortable in your own skin."

"What is a day inside your creative process like?"

"Block carving and printing for hours on end is both tedious, and emotionally gratifying. I’m multitasking my way thorough the day, surrounded by nature, family, and endless episodes of This American Life."

"What is love?"

"Love is foundational. Without it all other emotions are undermined and incomplete."
