Would you like to see someone honored for the efforts to better the community? Do you know a person who works tirelessly to improve the area and does so without recognition or glory? Now is the time to bring those to light who live to volunteer.
The City of Charleston’s Neighborhood Services division is looking for candidates worthy of being nominated for the Robert Ballard Excellence in Volunteer Service Award. If you’re aware of such a resident committed to community volunteerism in Charleston, nominate them here. The deadline to do so is October 30th.
Would you like to learn about the gentleman for whom the award is named? We would, too. Read on to find out who he was, how he behaved, and what made him tick.
