Two years ago, I had the pleasure of meeting the songstress Emily Hearn at Charleston Fashion Week. I was immediately taken aback by her wispy sense of style and très chic bohemian look. And Emily is just as beautiful on the inside as she is on the outside, and in showbiz that can be hard to find. After five minutes of conversation with Emily, a friendship was sealed. Now, being the makeup artist I am, I had to get to the bottom of her look. She shared her secrets and I shared mine! Over the last few years, I have done Emily's makeup for numerous occassions, including performances for her second album, Red Balloon, which was released earlier this year. For most of her shows, it is all about the black liquid liner! Cat eyes, honey, bring out her inner feline, and with them, she can rock both the stage and her look.
It is rare that you meet such a treasure of a person, so I was thrilled when she gave me a rundown of her favorite beauty products and typical routine. So thrilled (and impressed with the products she uses) that I wanted to share her secrets with you all, too.

Emily's Beauty Basics:
- - I love Clinique Base. It matches me really well and helps even out any oiliness. I have the pump that helps with neatness and use a foundation brush to create the most even skin tone that I can.
- - I also use Clinique Powder to make sure I'm matte.
- - My favorite bronzer is Too Faced matte bronze. There are several that I like in that line, but matte is my favorite look.
- - I use Urban Decay's Naked eye palette for eyeshadow and am OBSESSED. Great colors. I go for a subtle smoky eye during the day and a more dramatic smoky eye at night. I still haven't found the perfect eyeliner, but I typically go with a black and I like to do a small cat eye.
- - I finish off my look with Benefit's "They're Real!" mascara. Seriously best stuff ever.
