What You Should Eat for Breakfast

A couple of weeks ago I had one of the best mornings ever. I toured the biscuit mecca, Callie's Charleston Biscuits. And when I say mecca I mean mecca. Don't let the "Charleston" in Callie's Charleston Biscuits fool you into thinking this is just a local thing. These biscuits are shipped all over the country all day long. It's serious business, y'all. Because these biscuits are seriously the bees knees.

The Callie's Biscuit House is in the Navy's old medical building in North Charleston and is full of charm and history. You really should take a visit—they'd love to have you. But even more important are the ladies inside :) While the biscuit recipe comes from Callie, Callie's daughter Carrie is who has made it possible for all of us to enjoy :)

Carrie and her team are making buttermilk biscuits galore—think ham, black pepper bacon, cinammon, cheese, and chive. They're also making some of the best pimiento cheese and jam you'll taste. I told you, this place is paradise. Good thing I'm not there every morning. Who can turn down Carrie's cute daughters?

Callie's also just launched The Buttery. It's pretty much the goods to keep in your pantry for yourself or for gifts—Carolina grits, pecans, King Bean coffee, Fat & Juicy bloody mary mix, Jack Rudy tonic... I think this Buttery Pack would be the perfect gift to give your Christmas hosts this year.

I always, always have a pack of Callie's Biscuits in my freezer. They're the perfect go-to for guests, morning or night.

Big thanks to Libba and Jackie at Leapfrog PR and special thanks to Carrie for showing me around. I'll come back any morning that you'll have me to dish over some biscuits.
