This event is designed to be a magical night for middle and high school students to be their authentic selves—to dance, celebrate and build community free from discrimination.

We Are Family (WAF) is excited to host South Carolina’s only Queer Youth Prom on April 1 from 6-10 p.m. at Union Station. Since 2014, Queer Youth Prom has offered Charleston’s LGBTQI+ community a bespoke prom experience. 2023’s Queer Youth Prom’s theme is “The Sweetest Escape” and prom-goers will enjoy life-sized lollipops, gumdrop gardens, fluffy cotton candy and chocolate fountains.

This event is designed to be a magical night for middle and high school students to be their authentic selves—to dance, celebrate and build community free from discrimination. To provide safety and comfort, security will be on-site, and attendees will have a choice as to whether or not they want their picture taken. Tickets are free and can be reservedhere.
