Florence Chantepie is French through and through, but she met her French husband in Los Angeles. The two made the world the classroom for their two young children, traveling from country to country. Before she agreed to settle in Charleston, however, she used a lesson from her time in L.A.: make sure the city had aTrader Joe’s.Why? Because a French woman needs her cheese!

 

Today, she and her chef husband own wine barBistro A Vinand are partners along with Nico Romo in downtown’sBistronomy By Nicorestaurant. Bistro a Vin sells French wines and light food and just recently started a cocktail program run by their son who is now all grown up.
