Grit Picks 10/25-10/27

Stay in weekend mode by thinking about the next one.

Sure, a new week means work for some of us but that's all the more reason to look ahead to Friday. Do yourself a favor and mentally push past the grind with Grit Picks, your grit-worthy source for weekend plans. And the one before Halloween gives us plenty to think about with Skinful Halloween turning Charleston Woodlands into an adult version of fantasyland, and The Journey Tribute Band: The Departure blasting "Don't Stop Believing" to boobie-loving party-goers at Shem Creek. But it's not all skimpy outfits and body parts — there's something for everyone. Read on for details of what's happening where Friday, Saturday and Sunday. We approve this message.

Rockers 4 Knockers

What: 8th Annual Breast Cancer Fundraiser at Red's Ice House

When: Sunday, October 27th 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Description: For going on 8 years, the good folks at Rockers 4 Knockers have been assembling on the banks of Shem Creek for a good cause — the fight against breast cancer. This family- and pet-friendly event hosted on the water at Red's Ice House is the perfect way to spend a fall Sunday Funday here in the Lowcountry. Planning to attend? The price of tickets, which includes a T-shirt and three performances will set you back an affordable $20 with proceeds benefitting the Rockers 4 Knockers breast cancer awareness through music non-profit. The founders of the organization have all been personally affected by breast cancer and want everyone to become more aware of the disease, as well as to celebrate the lives of those who've been lost or saved by it. Plus, it's Breast Cancer Awareness month so there's no better time to do a solid for the pink ribbon community than Sunday. Slated to perform are Lauren HallRandall Fowler and Journey Tribute Band: The Departure.
