Stephen Marley Live at Firefly Distillery
Marley will be joined by revolutionary lyricist Kabaka Pyramid.
Charleston-based entertainment agency Ear for Music has partnered with South Carolina’s oldest working distillery, Firefly Distillery, to host award-winning singer, songwriter and producer Stephen Marley’s performance at Firefly Distillery on Friday, July 1 at 7 p.m. Marley will be joined by revolutionary lyricist Kabaka Pyramid. Tickets are on sale now.
“We’re excited to welcome reggae-great Stephen Marley to Charleston as part of his North American ‘Babylon by Bus’ tour,” shares Ear For Music Owner Rob Lamble. “The son of legend Bob Marley and brother of Ziggy and Damian, Stephen is a highly-talented musician and eight-time Grammy award winner.” “It’s incredible to have Stephen Marley hit the Live At Firefly stage to kick off the holiday weekend here,” says Scott Newitt, co-owner of Firefly Distillery. “Listening to him play with a Firefly cocktail in hand and watching the sunset over the marsh is bound to be a really great experience.”
Doors open at 6 p.m. and the show begins at 7 p.m.
Marley has been professionally playing music since the late 70s, then as a member of Ziggy Marley and the Melody Makers. Over the past four decades, Marley has performed, produced and partnered with well-known artists such as Pitbull, Wyclef Jean and DJ Khaled. Earlier this year, he produced an EP collection honoring music legend Nina Simone.
Doors open at 6 p.m. and the show begins at 7 p.m. Held on the four-acre field adjacent to the distillery, all Live At Firefly shows are rain or shine. Each concert offers General admission and VIP ticket options with preferred viewing, dedicated parking and restrooms. Firefly cocktails, beer, wine and fare from local food trucks will be onsite for purchase. Guests are encouraged to come before the show to enjoy a Firefly Distillery tour, tasting and cocktails. Concertgoers are encouraged to bring blankets and chairs, but dogs and outside food and drink need to stay at home.
