Deets: With 60 young adult writers including Goosebumps author R.L. Stine, The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants author Ann Brashares, and A Series of Unfortunate Events author Lemony Snicket, YALLFest returns for one exciting weekend for book lovers of all ages. This fourth annual festival features panel discussions; book signings at various King Street venues; a spotlight lecture with Meg Cabot, author of The Princess Diaries; and a closing keynote conversation at Charleston Music Hall from Brandon Sanderson and Brandon Mull, creators of the Mistborn and Fablehaven series

Deets: Food porn lovers unite at this connoisseur's event that lets you taste what you see on screen! Each day of the festival features a cocktail hour followed by an exclusive screening of food films from around the world with samples of the featured dishes and an afterparty. Don't miss this delectable affair that includes a screening of the Charleston episode of Anthony Bourdain: Parts Unknown before it's aired on network television. All proceeds benefit local non-profits Slow Food Charleston and Grow Food Carolina.

What: 4th Annual Smoke on the Harbor BBQ Throwdown

Where: Charleston Harbor Resort & Marina

When: Friday, November 13th, 5-9pm and Saturday, November 14th, 11am-5pm

Deets: The 4th Annual “Smoke on the Harbor BBQ Throwdown” hosted by Charleston Harbor Resort & Marina will be a fully sanctioned national event with the Kansas City Barbeque Society (KCBS). This State Championship will feature two days of barbeque competition within a large competitor and vendor village centered around The Lookout Pavilion. Public sampling of chicken wings and pork butts will be available for purchase, along with numerous options for food and refreshments. Enjoy live music performances, a cocktail competition, and a Kids Zone w/ "Drop Off" option. Charleston Harbor Resort & Marina will also host a Food Drive benefiting East Cooper Meals on Wheels. Patrons are encouraged to bring non-perishable food items and will receive $5.00 off admission.

What: Atomacon 2015 

Where: Charleston Plaza Hotel

Deets: Atomacon is a nonprofit educational corporation which creates awareness of and appreciation for sci-fi and fantasy through literature and other art forms. The 2015 convention will feature tabletop gaming, Poke'mon tournaments, cosplay, and more. Special guests include Robert J. Sawyer and Brian Malow. Local guests include comedian Andy Rider, author and costumer Cheralyn Lambeth, artist Christine Brunson, and more.

Deets: From clothing to books to household goods and more, you don’t want to miss this blowout two-day event—“Charleston’s largest garage sale.” Returning for its 41st year, the sale supports the Junior League of Charleston in its efforts to combat hunger and homelessness, develop the potential of women in the Charleston community, and improve life in the Lowcountry through effective action and leadership.

What: Moonshine, 11th Annual Membership Celebration

Where:  Halsey Institute of Contemporary Art

Deets: To aid in its efforts to provide innovative contemporary art programs to the Charleston community, the Halsey Institute of Contemporary Art hosts Moonshine, its 11th annual membership celebration. Presented by Whole Foods, this event entails heavy hors d’oeuvres and spirits, live music by Bill Carson and White Lightning, and the opportunity to have your portrait taken by local photographer Sully Sullivan against a moon backdrop. Open to current members, potential members, and visual arts enthusiasts, the anniversary get-together aims to support the Halsey’s mission of bringing contemporary art programs to the Lowcountry.

What: Camp Happy Days 26th Annual Gala

Where: Memminger Auditorium

When: Friday, November 13th, 7pm 

Deets: Camp Happy Days hosts the 26th Anniversary of the Cabooty Party Gala presented by APECS Aerospace. The cocktail-attire gala will be held at Memminger Auditorium. This annual event benefits Camp Happy Days and their year-round programs for South Carolina's children fighting cancer. Attendees will enjoy live music from Super Deluxe, heavy hors d’oeuvres, a full bar, and a live and silent auction. Deets: Vive Le Rock Productions presents the 3rd annual Rockabillaque festival in North Charleston's Park Circle. This all day event includes a classic car and vintage motorcycle show from noon-5pm, live music all day and night, a Miss Rockabillaque 2015 Pin-Up and Mister Rockabillaque contests, vendors, a fashion show, a tattoo contest, a Beard & Mustache competition, swing dance classes, kid's tattoo contest and fashion show, a photo booth and more.
