What: Southeastern Wildlife Exposition 

Where: Downtown

When: All Weekend 9am-5pm

Deets: Plan your weekend for one of Charleston’s most important, educational, yet unforgettable festivals. Join world-renowned artists, be a part of animal demonstrations and competitions, peruse auctions, and enjoy puppet shows for the kids. For the expo’s 34th year, special events include Ducks Unlimited Oyster Roast and South Carolina Waterfowl Association Sportsman’s Ball

How Much: $50 3-day pass; $25 single-day Friday or Saturday; $15 single-day Sunday


What: Bitterness Bash

Where: Bay Street Biergarten

When: 10pm-2am

Deets: Escape lovesick couples at the Holy City’s modern bier haus as they host their annual Bitterness Bash featuring beats by DJ NattyHeavy.
$2.50 cans of PBR and $4 shots of Jack Fire 
The best part is, Bay St Biergarten is hosting a clothing drive during, so you can exchange your exe's clothes to those in need, and get hooked up with $5 in bier bucks.
There will be other games throughout the night including Tinder Match, and the crowning of the King and Queen of Bitterness Bash.

SATURDAY 2/13 

What: Garth Brooks

Where: North Charleston Coliseum & Performing Arts Center

When: 7pm

The Deets: One of American’s most recognized and successful country singers comes back to Charleston after a 19-year hiatus. With wife Trisha Yearwood on his tour performing old and new hits, this is an easy Valentine’s Day gift. Brooks is performing a mix of past hits and songs from his current studio album.

How Much: $75

Where: Loggerhead's Beach Grill

When: Noon-4pm

The Deets: Be a part of something great, like running in your underwear to celebrate the fundraising of the Children’s Tumor Foundation. Watch the hilarity with a bunch of half-naked runners on the Folly Beach streets! Start a team, join a team, or run alone! There is an open bar and an award ceremony afterwards.

What: Strings & Salsa III

Where: Charleston Music Hall 

When: 8pm

The Deets: Get ready to dress up, tear the rug, and show off your salsa moves for a vivacious night of Cuban music! A combination of stringed and salsa tones and a variety of pop, classical, Latin styles with some incredible performers, orchestral director Robbi Kenny and trumpeter Robbie Madison bring the ultimate ear candy. Local salsa instructor, La Quinn is present to have everyone moving up and down the aisle! Charleston Grit contributor Georgia Schrubbe will be performing, so go check her out!

How Much: $18 advance; $20 doors; $15 student/groups 6+


What: Mixson Market presents Love Bites

Where: Mixson Market

When: 5-8pm

The Deets: Love Bites is an annual pre-Valentine’s Day shopping and sipping party designed to get you ready for the Hallmark holiday of the year, where Ink Meets Paper will be on hand with locally made letterpress cards (and free calligraphy), and Flowershop will be putting together arrangements.

Grassroots Wine will be pouring a fabulous collection of growers champagne, which will be available for purchase along with handcrafted treats from Cacao’s Artisan Chocolate. ReGeneration Beauty Spa will be offering 10 percent off of services for gift certificates purchased at Love Bites. The Market is also stocked with plenty of gifts from local brands like Sideshow Press and Bittermilk.

This year’s Love Bites will also be a Slow Sips Happy Hour event to benefit Slow Food Charleston. 10% of sales will be donated along with proceeds from a Love Bites Basket that will be raffled off.

Slow Food Charleston is one of more than 200 non-profit chapters that comprise the international organization Slow Food USA. Slow Food Charleston has been active for over eight years and during this time, has mainly focused on preserving and sharing the love of local foods and Lowcountry traditions.

When: 6-10pm

The Deets: Join us Sunday February 14th for an evening of lavish fare, from Chef Emily Hahn of Warehouse & Parlor Deluxe and Chef Bob Cook of Cypress & Artisan Meat Share lively bluegrass and crafty cocktails with passed plates and family style food.
