David Seay, a local Charleston real estate agent and business owner found himself wanting to express his love for his faith and his family, and to see his vision become a reality.

That vision was Versus Apparel, started by Seay in 2009 as a way to express his beloved verse from the Bible, Armor of God, AKA Ephesians 6:10-18. Starting the line with a collection of neat graphic tees stamped with powerful messages, Seay saw the brand growing and decided to enlarge the collection, venturing into new territory with the addition of menswear and womenswear.

The brand has grown to include men's button downs, women's dresses, and brighter, funkier prints for the first collection. Seay goes for bold pinks and purples with a mixture of textures like wool and boucle fabrics.

Seay has since created a wide range of clothing and collections catered to both women and men. His latest collection in the Versus Apparel Clothing line consists of great transitional pieces—dresses that go from work to cocktails, men's dress shirts, a color-blocked pencil skirt, a gorgeous charmeuse sash-tied blouse, and a variety of pieces to play into your existing wardrobe.

To celebrate the new collection, Seay and his team hosted "The Versus Apparel Funk Fashion Show" at his home. Seay brought in a crew to build a stage complete with fashion show lights in his living room and hired a video team from Nest Productions. Photography was done by Terrence Edwards of Current Visuals and makeup and hair were provided by Lordis Loft Salon. Take a sneak peek at images from the fashion show!
