There are a growing number of cat cafes in the United States, but none in Summerville — until now.

Cat cafes first appeared in Taiwan, and their popularity quickly spread around the world. There are a growing number of cat cafes in the United States, but none in Summerville — until now. Mews + Brews will be the first, planning for a late 2022 opening date. We have partnered with Dorchester Paws to provide the cats for our “cat lounge” and will allow visitors to adopt the rescue cats at the cafe. It is the perfect set-up for people who can’t have cats in their apartment or are still deciding if pet parenthood is right for them. You get to visit and spend time with your favorite cats without scooping a single litter box.

The best feature? If you fall in love with one of our loving felines, we will lead you through an onsite adoption process where you can take your new four-legged family member home with you. We will be working with Dorchester Paws to adopt out the cats that live in our cafe. At the end of the day, we want them all to find their forever homes, and this is a great way to make that happen.

Pre-packaged food items from local vendors will be available for sale, as well as tea, coffee, beer and wine. Lounging with the cats will take place in a separate area away from the food and drink service bar with a $15-per-hour charge to enter. That fee includes a non-alcoholic beverage.
