Product Review: Fullips Lip Enhancers

For months I have been practicing and perfecting the art of the Kylie Jenner lip. Full lips have never been a problem for me, but this particular look has plagued me. No matter what I tried, they always looked just too over the top. Kylie’s full top lip and proportionate bottom lip seemed completely out of reach for me—until I found the hidden secret.

Fullips Lip Enhancer came across my Instagram feed from a fellow makeup artist, and I was immediately intrigued. The concept is simple and similar to Chinese cupping therapy, an alternative medicine treatment in which cups are used to create suction and stimulate blood flow.

I started at the source, ordering online at Fullips.com. Not knowing what I needed, in what shape or size, I checked around on their website and found that for someone like me, I would most benefit from the two-pack combo of “Large Round” and “Medium Oval.”

Before

A few days later, my new additions had arrived, and I couldn’t wait to use them. The instructions are pretty clear, and there are tons of videos and how-to guides out there on the Internet. I started by first exfoliating and moisturizing my lips with my favorite E.L.F lip exfoliator and virgin coconut oil—everyone knows this is my absolute favorite moisturizer for just about everything.

I followed the directions to the letter.

Start slow and only use a light suction for 5–30 seconds. Check your progress every few seconds, and repeat until the lips are shaped the way you want!

Well, I was absolutely hooked. Within the first few rounds of suction, my lip game was so strong! I decided to get a little more aggressive with it, using both to create different shapes and levels of fullness. I figured out that the best method to create that unobtainable Kylie lip was to start with 30 seconds of the full round enhancer and then another 30 seconds with the medium oval, targeting my top lip.

Here’s the big con, and it’s mostly, err, well….totally my fault. Despite the large rounded edges of the enhancer, if you apply the suction too long and too hard, you will, in fact, give yourself a hickey on your face. And of course, after a few glasses of wine, I got a little too excited and left myself a not-so-pretty hickey underneath my bottom lip. What can I say? I have plenty of class, most of it is just really low.

Sweet hickey, right?

In the end of my trial with Fulllips Lip Enhancer, I decided it was totally worth purchasing. It’s probably not something I will use every day, but it is a fun and noninvasive way to change your look. The results last up to three hours, and it’s significantly safer than injections. I recommend when you use it to find a day that you don’t have to go anywhere, like on the weekend. That will give you time to experiment and play!
