Here Comes South of Hell

Now here's a horror story you won't hear on a $20 tour at the market.

Maria Abascal is an exorcist for hire in the Holy City, a place where evil thrives and posessions are rampant—a struggle that Maria is all too familiar with, seeing that she has her own demon living inside her, a demon named Abigail. Abigail feeds on the dammed souls and has violated the laws of Hell, leaving her to remain on earth living in Maria. The two must work as one in a battle against great evil.

Charleston seems to be the hottest new place to film a tv series, including those of the supernatural nature. WE tv has begun production of their latest scripted series idea, South of Hell. Set to begin filming eight one-hour segments, renowned horror-genre producer/director Eli Roth takes the lead on this Charleston-based series set to premiere in 2015.

Roth has previously worked on projects such as Grindhouse (2007), Cabin Fever (2002), Hostel (2005), Hostel: Part II (2007), and more.

Mena Suvari has been cast as Maria and will work alongside Zachary Booth, Bill Irwin, Drew Moerlin, Lamman Rucker, and Paulina Singer

I guess you have to be super hot to be on a show about Charleston (see Reckless), but we're not complaining. We're crossing our fingers hoping that we run into Roth or Suvari sometime in the near future.

Not much else has been released about the show, but needless to say, we can't wait to see how it goes. Hopefully, it has more luck than crime drama Reckless, which has not been renewed for a second season.
