The Fly Fishing Film Tour (F3T) made a stop in Charleston this past Saturday night.

The F3T is a film tour that features the most celebrated fly fishing cinema produced throughout the past year. 2017 marks the eleventh year F3T has traveled its loop around North America, hosting events that draw crowds of all ages. Fly fishing enthusiasts from all over the Lowcountry and beyond came out and nearly filled all the seats in the Charleston Music Hall.

Local chapters of Project Healing Waters and Trout Unlimited were present for the event. Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing, Inc. is an organization dedicated to the physical and emotional rehabilitation of disabled active military service personnel and disabled veterans, specifically veterans suffering from PTSD, through fly fishing and associated activities.

Project Healing Waters also organizes things such as education and outdoor adventures. A handmade fly rod was raffled off during intermission to raise money for the local chapter.  Before the show, Lowcountry Fly Shop hosted a celebration that featured oyster shucking, bloody marys and beer for the flyfishing gathered flyfishing gurus.

The next stop for the Fly Fishing Film Tour 2017 is Atlanta. We hope they have as much fun in ATL as they did here in Charleston!
