After one righteous show in March, the Floozies are returning to Charleston to play a set at the Chucktown Ball festival on Saturday, September 24th.

Known for their unique blend of funk, and electronic music, the Floozies are sure to light up the night. Grit had the opportunity to ask The Floozies a couple questions about their experiences playing Bonnaroo, returning to Charleston, and chicken biscuits.

The Floozies played at Bonnaroo earlier this year. Talk about your Bonnaroo experience and let us know what we are in store for!

It was incredible! That is one of the cleanest, most pretty, and rockin’ sets we have played to date. We have a well shot video of the entire thing and I can't stop watching it! Something about a big festival for the first time is challenging in the same way that a big game makes athletes perform their best. It was fun.

The Floozies also played in Charleston earlier this year. Did you get to see any of the city?  What do you enjoy about Charleston?

I love Charleston. I always intentionally wake up early and skate a whole lot while I'm there. I generally cover the whole downtown and hit the beach before lunch! It's so beautiful there and every time I've been the weather has been perfect. Plus our shows are great there every time.

You guys just released a new single, Summer Fling, but it's the fall now... will a remix be coming?

Hmm, that's a really great idea actually, thank you! It just might happen now.

Finally, we're a Southern publication, so we gotta ask: What's your favorite Southern food?

All things Soul food. The chicken! The chicken biscuits! And personally I can eat infinite amounts of collards and cornbread... and then some.

The Floozies aren’t the only band playing the Chucktown Ball. The two day event will feature two sets by Umphree’s McGee on both days, plus sets by Dead 27s & Moon Taxi on Friday and Dangermuffin & The Hip Abduction on Saturday.

The festival will feature local food, drinks, and vendors at the venue.

Doors open at 4:30pm on Friday and 3:00pm on Saturday

Tickets are $77 and are available here.

This year, Umphrey’s McGee will host the inaugural Chucktown Ball Charity Golf Tournament on Sunday, September 25, 2016 at Wild Dunes Harbor Golf Course. For more info, click here.

Chucktown Ball will contribute a portion of their proceeds to the MUSC Shawn Jenkins Children’s Hospital.
