Charleston Pride Festival 2015 begins tomorrow! Here's everything you need to know to get involved this year.


6:00PM — Out And A Bout — Roller Derby Bout

Watch the Lowcountry Highrollers Rainbows take on the Unicorns. Food trucks, music, and roller derby!

Tickets- $10 online (www.charlestonpride.com/derby); $15 at door

9:00PM until....Go Out for Pride

Support our local LGBT bars. Tag yourself in a photo with #CHSPride and #GoOutForPride. Pride will select two people from each of the bars who will recieve access to the Pride Partner/VIP tent during the rally.

11:00AM -1:00PM — Drag Brunch at Tabbuli 

What’s better than Sunday Brunch? Drag Brunch! Enjoy the amazing food at Tabbuli Grill and see one of the best drag shows in town!

1:00AM-4:00PM — Old-Skool Field Gay with We Are Family

All ages are welcome to the We Are Family’s old-skool recess-style field day with lots of GAYmes, a slip-and-slide, and a shaving cream fight finale. Co-Sponsored by the MUSC Empowerr Program and the Charleston Blockade Rugby Team.

6:00PM — Charleston's LGBTQ History: Where We've Been and Where We're Going 

Participate in this panel discussion with long-time members of the Charleston LGBTQ community and young activists. Hear the stories you’ve never heard before about Charleston’s past and what it was like to be LGBT in our town.

7:05PM — Charleston Rainbows Pride Night

The Charleston Riverdogs don their Charleston Rainbows throwback jerseys again for Pride Night at the Joe Riley Stadium. Show your Pride and take in a great game. First pitch by Patti O’Furniture.

7:00PM — LGBTQ Film Night: Screening of My Prairie Home

Charleston Pride and the Park Circle Film Society present My Prairie Home, an awarding-winning documentary, and special guest, Rae Spoon, the film’s central character. In this feature documentary-musical by Chelsea McMullan, indie singer Rae Spoon takes us on a playful, meditative and at times melancholic journey. Set against majestic images of the infinite expanses of the Canadian Prairies, the film features Spoon crooning about their queer and musical coming of age. Interviews, performances and music sequences reveal Spoon’s inspiring process of building a life of their own, as a trans person and as a musician.

Good food, drinks, a DJ, and drag at Tabbuli’s weekly drag show. You’re not going to want to miss out on this show!

6:00PM — Charleston Mayoral Candidate Forum presented by AFFA 

Join AFFA and Charleston Pride and hear from the candidates for Charleston Mayor. Find out if what’s important to you is important to them.

6:00PM — Takeover Charleston at Taco Boy

11:00PM — The Patti O'Furniture Show at Dudley's

Patti O’Furniture is the camp queen of the Carolinas. Her mix of drag, comedy, quirky costumes and quick wit have been entertaining audiences since 1998. Welcome to the world of comedy couture that is the “Yard Sale with Legs!”

4:00PM — Happy Hour with BEAU Magazine

Unwind after work, get ready for the weekend and celebrate Charleston Pride with Charleston’s premier LGBT magazine.

7:00PM — LGBT LOL: A Night of Comedy 

Join us for an event like no other. A night of comedy with members of the LGBT community and our allies. Featuring Emcee Jenn Snyder, Michael Clayton, Mimi Benfield, Elyse Garfinkel, Lily Slay, and Jeremy McLellan.

Tickets- $5 online and at the door

10:00PM — Friday Night at Club Pantheon 

Party the night away at Club Pantheon with their drag show and dancing.

9:00AM — Charleston Pride Parade

This is a Pride parade like no other. Join crowds of people lining King Street as our parade runs right through the middle of downtown Charleston. Stepping off at 9:00am, the parade route goes from Ann Street down King Street to Broad Street, and then to Colonial Lake.

10:00AM — Charleston Pride Rally 

Head to Brittlebank Park, beside the beautiful Ashley River, to walk among vendors, food trucks, and beer and alcohol sales, all while taking in entertainment and speakers from the stage. Nothing says Pride like a day in the park. Show your Pride and plan to celebrate!

3:00PM —Get Hitched! Charleston LGBT Wedding Expo 

Innovative Event Services (IES), an event design and production company presents Get Hitched, the first wedding showcase in historic Charleston, South Carolina supporting LGBT weddings. This event will be a celebration offered by LGBT community members and individuals who want to honor the equal right to marry for all people. It will be a landmark historical event, in an historical landmark city.

This showcase will provide an opportunity for LGBT couples to connect with companies and services that support and welcome the new legalization of same sex marriages. We will encourage Charleston’s wedding professionals to present fabulous new ideas and designs – highlighting the magnificent opportunities that Charleston has to offer as the country’s top destination wedding city. Get Hitched will be an opportunity to learn and experience while showcasing live entertainment, friendly competitions, fashion, raffles and prizes.
