The first ever Charleston Wedding Week is currently happening all over the peninsula and I was lucky enough to attend one of their most unique events—Lunch with Abby Larson at Cannon Green Charleston.

Larson is the founder and editor of the wedding blog Style Me Pretty. Guests to the luncheon were treated to a truly unique event for the wedding world. It is not every day that you are given the opportunity to sit down with such an influential editor and freely ask questions.

Easton Events designed an intimate and elegant affair. As guests entered the courtyard of Cannon Green a signature cocktail immediately greeted them. We were invited to mingle in the clear Sperry Tent before sitting down to lunch. The crowd was a mix of wedding professionals from Charleston and the Southeast.

Lunch was served inside Cannon Green’s event space. Tables were decorated with embroidered green linens and lush floral centerpieces by SYG Designs. It was a treat to have such an elegant lunch during the week, certainly not your typical Tuesday!

Most wedding events follow the same formula but this event from Charleston Wedding Week allowed guests the opportunity to network in a relaxed environment. I sat next to Candice Lorraine of Ooh Events and Emily Baucom Photography and thoroughly enjoyed hearing about their experiences in the wedding world.

After lunch, Abby Larson gave a short talk about her start in the wedding world and experience launching one of the very first wedding blogs. Larson gave helpful advice to the audience about the type of work wedding publications are looking for and finding work life balance. The audience was allowed to ask questions and Larson was open and honest with her answers.

If you are a wedding professional I highly recommend attending this event next year. All attendees were treated like welcome guests and it was refreshing mingling with wedding professionals in such an intimate environment.
